Hi Everyone,
What a great night was had by all at our Burns Supper Thanks to everyone who took place.our next social will include our A G M on the 25 February starting at 7.30 sharp.We have positions on the council for a Chieftain and 3 Councilors and applications for same should be in no later than the 12 February to either the Secretary or myself .The "Heel and Toe"band will be our entertainment for the Dancing that evening so I hope to see as many members as possible come along and join in the evening.Until then stay safe .from

Dances for Our Socials

The Caledonian Society of WA holds monthly socials which include a great deal of dancing
either to the Heel & Toe Ceilidh Band or recorded music. We aim to cover a range of dancing
types, namely Scottish Ceilidh Dancing, Ballroom Dancing and Scottish Country Dancing. Below
are lists of the dances we usually cover in an evening.
Waltzes: The Gay Gordons
St Bernard’s Waltz
The Pride of Erin Waltz
Waltz Country Dance
Ceilidh Dances: Strip The Willow
The Dashing White Sergeant
The Virginia Reel
A Highland Welcome
The Triumph
Dunnet Head
The Eightsome Reel
Circassian Circle
Scottish Country Dances: (1 or 2 of these would be included in an evening for experienced
Scottish Country Dancers and those who have learnt the dances at our dance classes)
We hope the non dancers enjoy our demonstrations. Our present list includes:
Knit the Pocky
Good Hearted Glasgow
The Deil Amang the Tailors
The Reel of the 51st Division
Shiftin’ Bobbins
Mairi’s Wedding
Ballroom: We always include brackets of music for general Waltz, Quick Step, Foxtrot, etc.

Thanks to everyone who supported the Linties at the November Social. We had 140 people there and what great night it was. This will be the last reminder for the Burns night we only have about 15 tickets left so if you haven't booked you need to let me know as soon as possible. I will be away as from the 14th December till the 20th January. I hope as many member as possible read this blog site,it will automatically let you know about this and any other new postings, but you will need to sign up,so this site to do this.I will be back again in the New year so until then Have a safe and Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year

Hi Everyone,
Just a few lines to update our newsletter. Highland Gathering at Armadale is coming up on Sunday 20th November. We will have a few people doing some Scottish Country Dances at 11 am.Come along and join the fun ,there 's lots to see. The Linties are our entertainment at the November Social on the 26th.St. Andrews Church are having there St. Andrews Service on the 27th at the McNess Hall in Pier Street At 11 am.Also a Scottish night at the same Hall on the 2nd December at 7.30,both events will have a fellowship tea. Don't forget to let me know if your are coming to Burns Night as we have a limit of 70 people.Don't forget Hogmanay the last for the year as I won't be there I'd like to wish all our member and family a Safe and Happy Festive Season.And a Happy New Year for 2012.

Hi everyone this is the latest update for our newsletter.October and December will be ceilidh nights as we do not have the band.if you can contribute by doing an item please let us know. The Linties choir will be our entertainment for the November Social so come along and sing along with a great choir. January of course is Burns night and once again if you'd like to take part please let us know.Tickets for the night will be $40. Anyone buying their tickets on or before the November Social will get them for $35.all tickets have to be paid for on or before the 31st December,no tickets will be reserved without payment first, as we are limited to 70 people it will be first in.So if you plan to be there get in early.
